In the midst of the response to COVID-19, arts and culture organizations in the United States and beyond are looking at an extended period of uncertainty and social distance. We believe that the sector’s arts leaders could use some support as we all struggle to understand what this means for our organizations.
The goal of Arts Leaders Alone / Together is for arts leaders to help other arts leaders.
For Arts Leaders
At the moment, we’re starting with a format inspired by college “office hours”: arts leaders can sign up and show up for an appointment with a consultant and bring something you’d like to discuss.
Arts Leaders Alone / Together has set up a quick sign-up system for consultation time slots and has recruited a small roster of volunteer consultants, which we hope will grow as the project evolves.
We know that we cannot solve major problems in one 30- to 45-minute conversation. The goal of these conversations is for an experienced consultant/arts leader to serve as a thought partner, strategy/tactics consultant, sounding board, or a sympathetic ear for other arts leaders, especially those who are socially isolated in this time of uncertainty.
For Volunteer Consultants
If you are interested in volunteering to be a consultant for other arts leaders, please fill out the Volunteer Consultant Form.
You must have held leadership or senior staff roles in an arts and cultural organization and be a willing source of advice and support for others. You do not have to be a practicing arts consultant.
You will have to commit to being available for a minimum of 10 hours between now and April 15, 2020.
We’ve also started a section of the website for arts leaders to share resources with one another.
